Michael Allen - Executive Creative Director/ Founder
Calling himself a 'refugee from big agencies', Mike is the Executive Creative Director of Magnum Opus Partners. Over 30 years he has guided its development to become one of Australia’s most consistently successful independent agencies. Before starting Magnum he previously 'enjoyed' senior executive roles with major agencies like Mojo MDA, McCann Erickson and Grey. His desire to deliver better outcomes for clients that were not predicated on size of budget was the catalyst for him starting Magnum Opus. All clients and all budgets deserve great results. Today he combines strong strategic analysis skills and creates notable and highly effective brands, campaigns and communications, Mike and is in charge of all creative production.
Stephen Yolland - Director of Creative Strategy
The agency’s Director of Creative Strategy & lead copywriter, ‘Yolly’ has been an entrepreneur and ad man for over 25 years. His long agency experience includes Moffatt Sharp, Ross and Partners and his own agency You, Me & Him as well as Magnum Opus Partners, and he is the recipient of many national and international copywriting and advertising effectiveness awards. He also offers exceptional skills in client liaison, interpreting research, strategic analysis and campaign planning, and in his spare time he is a widely respected commercial writer and author, blogger, and occasional voiceover artist.
Jasmine Kha - Account Director
‘Jas' is a highly skilled and experienced Account Director with a fine eye for detail, a friendly, no-nonsense manner, and a strong sense of what makes strategic communications across all platforms really work. In her fourteenth year of a stellar account service career, this is actually her second stint at Magnum Opus, and she has a huge range of client experience across both blue chip companies and Government. She also proudly has a bronze “Effie” to her name - Australian advertising’s highest award for results-focused advertising excellence.
Celina Kwan - Digital Marketing Coordinator
Moving from Sydney to join MOP - now that’s dedication to the cause - Celina has rapidly become a vital cog in the MOP chain - she’s the one who makes sure everything happens when it’s supposed to, calmly juggles hundreds of jobs a week making sure they are all progressing nicely, looks after social, digital and submitting all TV commercials to CAD, despatching radio ads, and helping the creative team sanely manage their priorities. Along the way, she also maintains excellent relations with a number of our clients. She also smiles - all the time.
Alec Morley - Director of $’s
Alec is our ‘Director of $’s’, he keeps the business in good shape. Having worked the numbers across a number of different industries, Alec brings a wealth of knowledge when it comes to dealing with the accounts. Having given up on playing football, he now focuses his energy of chasing down accounts not footballs. This is one of the only shots you’ll see of him without his famous beanie.
Erin Lightfoot - Managing Director/Senior Strategist
The agency's Managing Director, Erin is a highly-credentialed businesswoman, and marketing and advertising executive, who combines a winning, empathetic manner with in-depth management skills, backed by high end strategy and industry insights. Erin’s key strengths lie in her capacity to make things happen, think strategically and stay ahead of todays game. She is highly respected for the work she has done in leading teams and her ability to partner closely with both private and public sectors clients and businesses to drive business results, change, and growth, and especially in the tourism, events and leisure sectors. She has high-level contacts across many levels of industry domestically and internationally.
Pat Langton - Creative Director
Pat is the Agency’s Creative Director. After spending 2 years abroad in London, Pat returned with a wealth of experience working across local and major international brands. He won major international awards including a Silver Cannes Lion and 3 Clio awards to name just a few for his digital and traditional campaigns. His time in London focused on wellness and consumer health products to produce communications to trigger positive decision-making by the public. Pat calls his work “art that sells”, and that’s a great description. He uses advanced art skills to maximise the visual impact of a client’s proposition.
Johnathan Akiki - Art Director
First in, last to leave - Our young Art Director Jono is a talented and incredibly versatile young creative. Jono is experienced in all print and digital production, with abilities spanning across Website design, TV/Video production, Online Banners, Illustration, Photography, Animation and more. Jono is passionate about his craft, and spends most of his spare time working on his own creative projects. Jono now works towards his new goal to win a Cannes Lion/Clio award, and to produce great work no matter what medium.
Ella Selmon - Marketing Coordinator
Currently in her third year of a Bachelor of Sports Management and Business Management degree at Federation University, Ella is the resident intern and assists the team with a variety of projects across account service, strategy and creative. With a major in marketing and interest and aptitude for business development and strategic marketing, Ella excels at and enjoys researching and crafting social media strategies. Hailing from Ballarat, Ella’s a great communicator, extremely efficient and resourceful and is a great part of the MOP team.
Sarah Kempson - Copy and Content Creator
Sarah's love of words (and talking!) drive her passion for copywriting and social media management. Having worked as a freelancer, within agencies and client side over the past 15 years, Sarah's roles across advertising, marketing, events, journalism and public relations make her a perfect fit to adapt quickly to client needs. Her client experience ranges from FMCG and Government to not-for-profit and services, and she loves that no two days in this role are ever the same. Sarah prides herself on her attention to detail and ability to turn a clients vision into a reality.
